The Shadow Project

If you are not a ghost, you will have a shadow – light travels in straight lines and your shape stops it, creating a shadow.

Do you ever think about shadows? Have you noticed how shadows sometimes look more beautiful than the shape that created them? Some people chase tornadoes. I like chasing shadows and here is what I found:

It’s my shadow taking a photo of a shadow 😀

Any object, living or inanimate, that can block light can cast shadows. And shadows can move. When you create a moving shadow, it reminds you that you are alive. So enjoy your shadows!

Blooming Sky

More blooms – more spring. An explosion of Blooms was continuing for last several days and I was focusing on the blooming sky this time.

I’m so pleased I took these photos, because it was snowing (!) in Tbilisi this morning and almost all blooms were gone!

You can see more blooming tree photos here.

Have a great day,

Shorena

Focusing on Daffodils

Daffodils are one of the most popular flowers in the world. The simple beauty of trumpet-shape blooms is so charming.

Did you know there are up to 13,000 different hybrid varieties of daffodils (botanical name: narcissus). They are among the first flowers of spring.

In some countries people believe that bringing home a bouquet of daffodils brings happiness into the home. However, you should avoid presenting someone with a single daffodil as some believe that it foretells misfortune.

In Wales, the daffodil is the national flower. According to legend, if you see the first daffodil, your next 12 months will be filled with wealth. Keep this mind for next spring!

Have a happy time,

Shorena

Tops of trees invite you to fly!

When I was a child, I always had scraped knees at this time of year! Instead of looking down to see where I was treading I was looking up all time to see bare tree tops. I haven’t changed after all these years.

What can I do? I can’t take my eyes away from the tree tops. I love photographing them just before they put on spring clothes and cover their bare skeleton.

Sometimes I thing I can fly up and shake hands with the countless wooden fingers 😊

My photos of bare tree tops, taken on a rainy, dark and cloudy day (my favorite weather 😀😀)

Just a few more photos.
